Durability of latent heat storage systems

Latent heat storage represents technology with significantly higher energy density. The thermal capacity of building structures and units integrated into services contribute to the flexibility buildings. This paper presents results from laboratory experiments focused on compatibility media represented by phase change materials (PCMs) container. Material selected PCMs plastics metals were tested a long-term experiment. Two organic-based two inorganic-based for tests (aluminium, copper brass) (PP-H, PE-HD, PVC-U). Plastic-PCM was determined gravimetric method. For evaluation metal-PCM compatibility, calculation corrosion rate applied. less mass changes lower penetration matrix observed compared PCMs. In case between PCMs, highest values calculated immersed in Rubitherm SP25.
